Paint is one of the most popular finishing materials. It is affordable, easy to apply to most surfaces, and the color palette is simply huge. In addition, you don’t need expensive tools to work with paint.
Paint is chosen based on several criteria. It should not only match the interior in color, but also correspond to the task. Paints differ:
- by application area — for indoor and outdoor work
- by purpose — for floors, walls, ceilings
- by base composition — water-based, organic (enamels), silicone, latex and others
- by surface type — matte, glossy, semi-matte, semi-gloss
- by performance properties — degree of water resistance, resistance to washing and abrasion
- by application method — brush, roller, air or airless spray
As a rule, for painting walls in an apartment or private house, water-based compositions (water-dispersion and water-emulsion) are chosen, resistant to abrasion, washable or withstand wet cleaning. It is important that the paint is intended specifically for indoor work, because facade materials may contain components that are harmful to human health.
