In the fall of work in the country house, too, there are plenty of one, starting from September to the onset of calendar winter. It is important to do everything right and consistent.
Work in the country in September
At the beginning of the month, first of all, the last harvest of cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and squash should be removed.
Tomatoes must be collected in the afternoon and in warm weather (it is very important that they are warmed and dry). Removed tomatoes need to be put in at home in boxes for ripening.
If there are many little tomatoes left, then you can force them to ripen. To do this, you need to dig healthy and strong plants completely. Then, in a cool and dry room, these plants should be suspended so that the roots are at the top (all the tomatoes, even the smallest ones, are growing up in such conditions).
At the same time, you need to start digging potatoes. It is recommended to dig in dry and warm weather. Dug potatoes, first, must be left directly on the ridges (for drying). Then, if possible, leave for a day under a canopy or in a greenhouse for aeration. Such potatoes will be stored much better. And after this procedure, you can lay it (potatoes) for storage.
Of the root crops, the first in September should be removed the table beets, since with unexpected frosts (up to minus 5 degrees) it may freeze.
After beets, it is necessary to begin to remove other root vegetables (carrots, radish, trough, turnip). Then they start cleaning celery, parsley and other cold -resistant crops. Late varieties of cabbage need to loosen, feed and water until the middle of the month.
In late September – early October, it is necessary to plant winter garlic. Ridges, at this time, it is necessary to cover with mulch (foliage, humus, peat, etc.). Freed ridges should be dug up and put in order. Remove all the remains from root crops, garbage and grass from the site. It is recommended to put plant residues in compost pits.
Country work in October
In October, you should continue to remove the remains of uncleaned vegetables (celery root crops, turnips, radishes, parsley).
By mid -October, it is necessary to remove the cabbage for storage (late varieties should be removed to frost). The cabbage, which is intended for pickling, should be cleaned later, when it grabs it with the first frosts (up to minus 4 degrees). Such cabbage will be boiled better, since starch will go into sugar.
In October, it is necessary to cover with humus or fallen foliage vegetables that remain winter on the ridges (asparagus, rhubarb, parsley). Rhublines should be removed everything, and only young leaves are left on the bed.
It is not recommended to cover the ridges with winter crops of grass from your garden, especially the top of tomatoes and potatoes (in order to avoid the danger of bringing some kind of illness). It is best to burn everything.
Also in October, it is necessary to plant onions in the winter, which will go to the feather (October 15-25). It needs to be planted to a depth of three centimeters, and when the temperature begins to decrease, you need to mulch with sawdust.
In the last autumn month, you need to prepare ridges for sowing winter vegetable crops. Sowing should start sowing from November 24-25 (carrots, beets, blacks, dill, parsley). Sow the seeds dry, right into the grooves, which by then will be frozen by that time. Then you should fill the seeds with the soil, which should be prepared in advance.
And until real frosts have come, you need to have time to repair and bring your garden tool and inventory in full order.
It should be remembered that autumn is the most suitable time in order to conduct the liming of the soil (this is most relevant for acidic soils).
