How to teach a child to do lessons

As soon as your child goes to first grade, parents, in addition to other worries, have another problem – their homework is their schoolboy. As a rule, primary school children are very difficult to get used to the new day of the day and can not always choose time on their own and sit down for completing homework. The task of the parents in this case is not to do lessons together with their schoolboy, although at first this option is quite acceptable, and teach the child to do homework on your own. Ideally, the task of the parents should only include checking their homework students, but in reality everything is usually not entirely. So that your child can, without parental assistance, complete the tasks in the school, parents should only follow the following non -unified recommendations.

In order for the process of doing homework to be more productive and takes less time from the child, the student should not be sitting down for lessons no earlier than an hour after returning from school home. During this time, the brain of your student will rest a little from school classes. Of course, this rule must be observed only to those children who study at school in the first shift. If your offspring is gnawing at the granite of science from the second shift, then its daily routine should be different – in this case you must accustom it to complete homework in the morning, before the school.

Many parents very often make the same mistake and make their children of primary school age perform all homework without a break to rest. According to teachers, a first-class student can concentrately perform tasks for only 15-20 minutes. Further, his performance is abruptly decline, which leads to the fact that the child begins to make many mistakes and remember the rules worse. If your schoolboy is already graduating from elementary school, then he should take the first break when performing tasks at home in 30-40 minutes. The duration of the break should not exceed 5-7 minutes, during which the child can run a little, jump, pour flowers or play with pets if you have it.

Parents of first -graders in order to teach a child to do lessons on their own, at first you need to be near him. Each time you will need to ensure that your student immediately prepares everything you need for classes and is not distracted in search of a ruler or eraser in the process of their implementation. Parents also need to ensure that the child does not forget to fulfill all the requirements for the design of homework – the number of cells retreated, wrote answers or emphasized the letters that he inserted.

After some time, the degree of parental control will be gradually reduced. You will no longer need to monitor his preparations for home classes or remind you of the need to keep your back smoothly – it will be enough that you will check how correctly and to what volume your schoolboy coped with homework.

It will be better if the child will perform oral tasks out loud. So, for example, it is desirable that the student has the opportunity to prepare a retelling on a given topic on his own, and then voice it to one of the parents – so it is better to remember the plot of his story, and you will check how much he prepared for the answer. The poems should first be taught at first with the child – let him first memorize several lines, and then with your help tries to repeat them from memory. You should not scold the child if at first he can’t perform the lessons correctly and quickly – gross words can repel your student love for learning for life.
