Preparation for winter cold

Preparation for winter cold

As a rule, it is in the summer period that preparatory work is underway for winter. It can be repairs or replacement of heating, preventive work.

We are also no exception, one of the necessary parts of the entire heating system of any house is radiators, many generations of Russians have grown next to this huge cast -iron batteries. But time goes and everything changes and now there was a replacement for these historical monsters. Modern heating radiators look completely different and even carry additional functions.

In this article we will talk about modern types of heating radiators, their properties and functions.

What is heating radiators – these are devices that contribute to the transfer and distribution of heat.

Modern radiators are divided into three types: panel, sectional and tubular.

Sectional radiators – resemble sections, such radiators are made of aluminum, cast iron and also release bimetallic. Cast -iron sectional radiators are outwardly very similar to old models, but in their performance and heat transfer they have no equal.

Aluminum radiators also have good heat, less weight and a more attractive appearance, and they are very easy to install, but the life of aluminum radiator is limited 15 years.

Bimetallic radiators are produced with a steel core and outer aluminum external shell. Such radiators are most resistant to the chemical composition of water, aluminum, covering them from above, has excellent heat transfer. Heating the bimetallic radiator occurs very quickly and accordingly just as quickly and all the air in the room is heated. As you can see, in all indicators, bimetallic radiators surpass their counterparts, moreover, their appearance is much prettier.

The main material for the manufacture of panel radiators was and remains steel. Such radiators look like two panties cooked with a panels, or a sheet, inside which the coolant circulates through the channels. These radiators have several varieties, but the most popular radiators are 60 cm high, this is explained very simply – they perfectly stand in the existing space under the windowsill, these models are also convenient because they have several types of connection: upper, lower and side. The low thermal inertia of panel radiators allows you to quickly heat both the room and just as quickly, allow it to cool. The appearance of panel radiators is quite aesthetic, in addition, they can be painted in different colors, which can approach the situation you have. But, in spite of the abundance of positive moments, panel radiators have a number of disadvantages: they cannot stand great internal pressure, do not tolerate water drainage, there is a danger of the occurrence of metal corrosion.

The next type of radiator is tubular, they are more hardy, compared to panel, outwardly it is vertical, curved steel pipes. Tubular radiators are also produced from aluminum, steel, there are bimetallic products. Compared to other radiators, the tubular are the most expensive, but also the most practical, it is very easy to care for them. The universality of these tubular radiators is determined by the aesthetic component, a wide variety of sizes and models and colors. Such radiators, despite their high price, fully justify the funds invested in them, they are practical, durable and have good heat transfer.

As a result, I would like to note that no matter what type of radiators you choose, the most important thing is to competently connect them to your heating system and it is best if this work is carried out by specialists.
