How the jumper differs from the sweater

There are so many different names – the head just goes around! You can get confused in exotic little things as a sweatshirt or a cardigan, but to know how one is different, at all times popular, a thing from another, it still follows. And the differences in the sweater from the sweater are quite simple – it is just enough to remember them once. The word “pulver” only seems strange, but it is also easy to recognize by the special shape of the neck.

How the jumper differs from the sweater

A sweater is called knitted (non -knitted!) clothes with a high collar. It’s funny, but the word “sweater” came from the word “to sweat” (to sweat). Apparently, when this item was invented, it seemed so warm that it was impossible not to sweat in such. And indeed, having dressed not in the weather, in a too warm sweater you can and to waree very seriously. Sometimes a sweater is decorated with a pattern of “pigtails”, embossed patterns or ornaments (for example, anecdotal deer). But this, in fact, is not necessary at all. But the sweater collar is simply obliged to be. Without such a collar, it will no longer be a sweater, but another wardrobe item. In addition, the sweater has no fasteners, unlike a sweater that is equipped with a button on buttons or a zipper.

Initially, the sweater was exclusively knitted, but now sometimes sweaters are called knitted products. Remember, the sweater is very warm, and if the clothes are thin, it will no longer be a sweater, but a turtleneck. The word “turtleneck” really is related to the conquerors of sea and river depths-once divers pulled them under a dive costume so as not to freeze in the cold abyss. Now, turtlenecks are already boldly worn by everyone – not only athletes, but also the most ordinary unsportsmanlike inhabitants.

Jumper also looks like a sweater. So they call knitted clothes with a round collar, and also without fasteners. The origin of the name “jumper” is even funnier than that of the sweater. It originated from the word “jump” (English.). The fact is that once only athletes wore a sweater, who, among other things, were engaged in jumping in length. Jumper – a kind of sweater with a missing collar. Only in the neck are these two clothing items and differ. Once a sweater was considered a female model, and a jumper was a male. Now there are no such troubles, it all depends on the design of a particular copy. There are sweaters and sweaters for a strong half and for the beautiful, there are also children’s models.

But the cutter of the jumper is exclusively round. If you see something knitted, and without fasteners, but at the same time with a neckline in the form of a Latin letter V, it will already be a pulver. In some illiterate people, its name is transformed into “Pulover”, but in fact no “half” hung there and nearby. Pulover is a name that comes from, again, the English phrase PULL Over in the sense of “put on top”. He was not outerwear – the name hints that the pulver is put on the body through the head.

Many do without troubles, and all knitted clothes call “sweaters”. Your right, but without knowledge of the differences between sweaters, sweaters, pulver and other clothing items, it is difficult to read fashion magazines. After all, there such words come across almost every page, especially if the topic of the number about demi -season or winter collections. And living speech will be much more literate if you call it a real name every thing. And in books you will understand which of the heroes how it looked. Why, for example, a person in a turtleneck froze, and in a sweater sweat in the same weather? But because the turtleneck is much thinner than the sweater, and warms our body much worse!
